Can’t Buy Me Congressional Love

Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis is bummed that his plans to place the winner of his “Hottest Girl in America” search in the employ of Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) for the summer have disappeared quicker than a drunken coed’s top at spring break.

Not only is Team Pryor insisting that it never offered the post, it’s crying fraud and wants the feds to investigate.

“We believe someone outside Senator Pryor’s office has broken the law by fraudulently impersonating a U.S. Senator, fraudulently attempting to sell a government position and using the Senate seal without authorization. We have asked the FBI to fully investigate who is perpetrating this fraud against the senator and the U.S. Senate,” Pryor’s office said in a release.

Guess the season 3 HGIA champ will have to console herself with the promised cash, magazine spreads and “trip to Girls Gone Wild Island” still on the table.

The GGW founder stirred the pot by touting his purchase of a “4-week internship with United States Senator in Washington D.C.” as part of the burgeoning prize bundle for his late-night HDNet series. Francis told HOH that he snagged the contested internship offer over the weekend at a charity auction in Los Angeles.

Francis declined to divulge the winning bid amount or the beneficiary, but he maintained that everything was fine until the charity contacted Pryor’s office to iron out working dates for the theoretical intern. Next thing he knew, his bikini-clad proxy became persona non grata.

“I’m surprised the Congressman would withdraw the internship,” Francis said, apparently unaware that Senators like to be called “Senator.”

Mind you, only one of the top 20 contestants on the hunt for the GGW crown even broached the subject of politics — that’d be Chelsea Pereira — in her Web bio.

“I thought it’d be fun,” Francis said of the supposed impulse buy.

Allow HOH to extend an offer: We’d be honored to have Monica Sims — a self-proclaimed snoop who “can find dirt on anyone” — intern with us (*fingers crossed*).
