Going Green

Contrary to what jealous colleagues might tell you, HOH is not — repeat NOT — heading to Baltimore this weekend solely to indulge in mouthwatering crab cakes, ice cold National Bohemian tall boys and famously fudgy Berger cookies.

We’ll be descending on Charm City as part of our exhaustive (or is it exhausting?) 2012 election coverage. Our primary target: the Green Party Convention.

That’s right, the party that gave Ralph Nader entree to the 2000 contest is ready to renew rocking the electoral boat with some fresh faces.

Dr. Jill Stein has the presidential nomination locked down, and on Wednesday, she tapped anti-poverty activist Cheri Honkala to be her running mate. Comedian Roseanne Barr, who racked up 84 delegates (to Stein’s 205), is slated to share her thoughts with conventioneers Saturday night.

Former Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.), who ran for president in 2008 on the Green ticket, is attempting to stage a comeback to Congress by running for a House seat in Georgia on the Green ticket.
