March Madness With John McCain and Obamacare

Sen. John McCain’s campaign committee is joining March Madness once again.

In an email blast sent Monday, the Friends of John McCain invited supporters to join their private ESPN bracket group.  More than 150 people and counting have signed up for the “McCain Bracket Challenge.”  McCain’s campaign has been hosting its own bracket competition since 2007.

The McCain supporter with the most successful bracket will win a basketball signed by the Arizona Republican.

But McCain isn’t the only one getting into the March Madness action.  The White House put together its own bracket competition, but this one is not related to “the Big Dance.”

The White House launched “16 Sweetest Reasons to Get Covered” Monday, prompting participants to vote for their favorite reason to sign up for health care coverage. The competition is part of an effort to boost signups on Healthcare.gov by the March 31 deadline.

Two college basketball coaching legends joined the White House’s promotion.  University of North Carolina coach Roy Williams and Geno Auriemma of the University of Connecticut’s women’s team  urged Americans to fill out their Affordable Care Act bracket and sign up for health insurance.

Obama is like the guy who invites an old friend over “just to catch up.” And then pops his Amway pyramid scheme on him. Then when you sigh and politely reject him, he asks if you know anyone who might be interested. Well, he’s running out of people to ask. And these useful idiots like Roy Williams should know better.

I heard Obama was soliciting LeBron James for the same thing the other day. Say it ain’t so, LeBron. It’s one thing to write a check or campaign for the guy. It is quite another to allow the president to use your good name and popularity to clean up after his incompetent, corrupt, and wrongheaded Ponzi scheme.

Who in heavens name would want a basketball autographed by the biggest warmonger since Adolph Hitler, John McCain?
