The British singer may be ineligible to actually occupy the Oval Office (damn birthplace requirements), but that hasn’t stopped him from airing his grievances about the daunting job in his latest single, “When I’m President”:
“You go in with the right intent/When you become President … But something happens to you up on the Hill/It’s business as usual!” he bemoans during the breakdown.
The catchy tune is included on Hunter’s forthcoming album of the same title (dropping Sept. 4). Undecided voters can quiz Hunter about the rest of his platform when he rolls into town Sept. 15 to play the Howard Theatre.
