Santorum, Duggars to Double Team 2014 March for Life

Updated 1:55 p.m. | 2012 presidential hopeful Rick Santorum will be back in Washington on Wednesday to rally the faithful — including assorted members of the ever-expanding Duggar clan — during the 41st annual March for Life.

Jim Bob Duggar, the most procreatingest patriarch on TLC, is expected to join Team Santorum for a meet-and-greet with Patriot Voices, the political action group founded by the former Republican senator from Pennsylvania. The pre-march confab, now in its second year, is scheduled to take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill (400 New Jersey Ave. NW).

Josh Duggar, the Arkansas ex-pat who relocated to the D.C. area last year to become executive director of the Family Research Council’s Action arm, is also expected to participate in the event at the Hyatt.

A Patriot Voices aide told HOH around 350 supporters have signed on to attend.

A year ago Santorum told fellow March for Lifers about his experiences raising daughter Isabella, who has been diagnosed with the genetic disorder Trisomy 18:

Santorum previously suspended his bid for the Oval Office, citing the need to care for his ailing child.

The march, which is scheduled to take place no matter the weather, will begin on the National Mall at noon and wend its way up Constitution Avenue Northwest before concluding in front of the Supreme Court around 1 p.m.

Update 1:55 p.m.

Per a Family Research Council aide, the Santorums and Duggars will kick off their day of activism by attending the 9th annual ProLifeCon. That event is scheduled to take place at the FRC Media Center (801 G St. NW) beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Republican lawmakers Andy Harris of Maryland and Vicky Hartzler of Missouri are also scheduled to say a few words at the FRC gathering. Hartzler is also slotted to address the broader March for Life on the National Mall, as are House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., and Reps. Daniel Lipinski, D-Ill., and Christopher H. Smith, R-N.J.

What? More Senator Frothy? He’s like the Duggars, but without the self-restraint.
