Tuesday is here again, and that means it’s time for HOH to catch up with another Member of Congress. Today, it’s Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.), who talks about her introduction to beer and gives advice for student council presidents.

Q: In high school you were student council president. What advice would you give to those in that position?

A: Really take it seriously because your peers are looking to you. … When I was student council president, we got a new school because we had inadequate facilities. We got black history books, giving a more true and deep story about African-American history.

Q: If you could live in any time period, which would it be?

A: I loved growing up in the historical period I’m in because I think there was lot of consciousness-raising about civil rights [and] human rights. And it really helped shape and develop me into the person that I am.

Q: How many Milwaukee Brewers games do you plan on attending this season?

A: It’s very, very difficult to schedule a game with the schedule that we have here. … I was raised up loving baseball.

Q: What’s your favorite political movie?

A: I did enjoy “Game Change.” I think it gave us a behind-the-scenes insight into that campaign.

Q: Your district is home to the Miller Brewing Co. and Harley-Davidson. Which do you prefer, having a beer or riding a motorcycle?

A: I had never in my life had a beer until I was elected in 1988 [to the state Assembly]. I represented Miller Co. and so I made a very calculated decision that now I’m going to have to start drinking beer. I drink beer, and I only drink Miller. I would love to ride a Harley but … I’m a scaredy-cat.
