Dare we dream of watching anti-establishment interloper Ron Swanson trade existential jabs with Libertarian poster boy Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas)?
We may find out in just a few short weeks.
As first reported by entertainment scribe Michael Ausiello, NBC comedy “Parks and Recreation” is considering shooting part of its forthcoming fifth season — set to debut this fall — here in the nation’s capital.
Crystal Palmer, director of the D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development, told HOH that NBC execs have put out feelers about filming here later this month, but noted that no official permit has been filed.
Getting some shots in and around the Capitol would dovetail nicely with last season’s cliffhanger. When last we joined them, newly minted City Councilwoman Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) was bidding farewell to her on-again, off-again boyfriend and suddenly in-demand campaign manager, Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott), after her paramour got recruited to run the whole show in Ohio’s fictional 19th Congressional district:
We promise to immediately call a town hall meeting if we spot doe-eyed contrarian April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza), uber capitalist Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari) or big-hearted doofus Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) distributing “Knope 2016” gear anywhere around town.
