Welcoming Jesse Ferguson Back to D.C.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee aide Jesse Ferguson is returning to D.C. after hitting the road last year to deal with a bout of cancer.
Friends are excited to welcome him back to the political fray the best way they know how: by bending the elbow together in #ThisTown.
Ferguson has been shuttling back and forth from his family’s home in Richmond, Va., and the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center since discovering that he had cancerous growths taking root in his cheek and neck. He underwent extensive treatment, including multiple surgeries and chemotherapy, over the past six months. He announced earlier this month on his personal blog that his doctors felt they had nipped the frightful situation in the bud.
“So, for the first time since May of 2013, I don’t think there are any tumors or cancer cells in my body. I gotta admit, That’s kinda fun to write,” the DCCC mouthpiece declared on Jan. 17.
Roll Call alumna Susan Davis put out the call for Ferguson fans to band together Feb. 7 at the Hawk ‘n’ Dove (329 Pennsylvania Ave. SE).
“Let’s celebrate Jesse for showing cancer who’s boss the best way we know how: with a happy hour,” the USA Today scribe and “Jesse Ferguson Return Happy Hour Organizing Committee” head blasted out via email.
Those looking to hoist a glass with the recovering rabble-rouser should turn their heels towards the upstairs bar at the Hawk ‘n’ Dove around 5 p.m. Feb. 7.
